Care UK, one of the UK’s leading health and social care organisations, has equipped the laundry of its newly-opened Manor Lodge care home in Chelmsford, Essex with the latest energy efficient and high productivity machines from Girbau UK, part of the Girbau Group - manufacturer of commercial and industrial laundry equipment.

After many years of successful collaboration with Girbau UK, Care UK specified four of the company’s 6 Series high-speed washers, four gas dryers and an ironer. High productivity and energy efficiency were key factors in the selection of Girbau equipment, with the home expecting a large volume of sheets and towels to clean, as well as residents’ clothes, which can sometimes require changing as often as two to three times daily. Care UK was also looking for reliability and was attracted to Girbau UK’s warranty package.

Girbau installed three HS6017 19kg capacity, high speed washers and a smaller 14kg HS6013 machine at Manor Lodge. Strong and durable, all machines in the Girbau 6 Series range offer spin speeds of up to 1000rpm and have been specifically designed to optimise the use of water and energy. They also provide excellent washing performance with reduced cycle times. Girbau’s patented GDRIVE system uses microprocessor control to optimise the high speed spin cycle to suit different types of fabric as well as saving energy, reducing noise & vibration and prolonging machine life.

Equally impressive efficiencies, cost savings and performance are expected from Girbau’s gas dryer range. A new GI25-1400 rotary ironer was also selected to provide ironing productivity, robust performance and a quality finish.
