Graffiti removal chemicals within REACH
Published at the end of 2006 and in force from 1 June 2007, REACH introduces major changes to the way chemicals are managed throughout the EU.GraffitiHotline.co.uk has launched a new generation of graffiti removal chemicals that deliver good performance and compliance, well within the new EU chemical legislation - REACH. Formally published at the end of 2006 and in force from 1 June 2007, REACH introduces major changes to the way chemicals are managed throughout the EU.
In future chemicals will require an extensive dossier covering safety and environmental information.
Researched and produced in the United Kingdom by GraffitiHotline's chemical manufacturing partner, the new range is entirely free from Dichloromethane and NMP (N-methylpyrrolidone).
The chemicals are proven to be very effective against all graffiti paint types, including metallic paints.
Completely biodegradable, the washwater is safe to run into the ground and storm water drains. Tony Parkes, director, GraffitiHotline, said: "We welcome the REACH legislation. Our strategy has always been to research and deliver safe products to both users and the environment.
This new range has been developed, to our own specification, to ISO9000 and ISO14001 standards, working very closely with our UK manufacturing partner."
The five products in the new range have performed outstandingly well in extensive field trials on a wide range of surfaces by professional graffiti removal teams. GraffitiHotline Gel, for use with brick, concrete, stone and other porous surfaces, provides a carefully balanced viscosity, optimising chemical contact time and providing flow characteristics to ensure full contact on rough surfaces.
Gel readily washes away with water and does not leave floors slippery, a common problem with many gel removers. GraffitiHotline Ghosting Remover is highly effective in removing graffiti shadows, is less corrosive than existing products, making it safer for operatives and gives longer brush life. It is ideal, too, for removing graffiti from wooden surfaces such as fencing panels.
GraffitiHotline Clear, for the removal of paint, ink and marker pen graffiti from nonporous surfaces, offers excellent performance and value.
GraffitiHotline Ultra is a specialist product formulated to remove stubborn leather shoe dye graffiti. GraffitiHotline Wipes, designed for sensitive surfaces, are polycarbonate safe, therefore ideal for use on bus shelters, telephone kiosks and similar structures.
The wipes also allow for the careful and controlled removal of graffiti from signs. GraffitiHotline provides product training either on site or at the company's dedicated training centre in Hampshire.
