The Government’s £57 million hospital deep clean finishedat the end of last month.
While most of the NHS Trusts met this deadline for the completion of the cleaning programmes, some did not. However, the major worry in the cleaning industry now concerns what will happen after the deep cleans are over.

Roger Papp, operations director at Truvox International succeeded in his attempt on 4 September 2007 to consecutively cycle twice up Mont Ventoux in the south of France.

Despite strong head winds and near-freezing temperatures at the top of the mountain, which is a regular feature in the Tour de France, Papp completed the first ascent from Bedoin in a very creditable 1 hour and 53. Amazingly he was then only 90 seconds slower on his second climb from Sault to the summit.

Generous financial and cycling support from Girbau UK has helped a trio of cyclists to raise a total close to £100,000 for charity after completing their recent Coast2Coast2 cycle challenge.

Bill Wilson, director of property services at Barchester Healthcare, and his colleague Chris Bamford together with Dan Goddard of Meedhurst Project Management successfully cycled a total of 1111 miles in 11 days - starting in Truro, Cornwall and finishing in Aberdeen, Scotland, visiting some 41 Barchester care homes along the way.

A new insurance scheme especially for dry cleaners, launderettes and associated trades has recently been launched by insurance broker Camberford Law plc.

The scheme was developed after extensive research into what dry cleaners and launderettes really wanted from their insurances and, as a result, has been tailored to their specialist needs.

The internal support team at Northampton-based commercial cleaning, sanitation and hygiene solutions provider JohnsonDiversey has won the Back Office Customer Service Team of the Year at the prestigious National Customer Service Awards 2007.

The team beat off strong competition from three other finalists from well-known companies to win the prize at a recent ceremony in London. “It’s really exciting to receive this recognition from our industry,” said Louise Robinson, commercial team manager at JohnsonDiversey in Northampton. “We won because our people are passionate about what they do and want to make a difference to the business.”
