Motion sensitive soap & sanitiser
A complete end-to-end touchless hand hygiene solution has been unveiled by Lotus Professional with the addition of two products to complete the hygienic enMotion range.
The electronic enMotion Antibacterial Foam Soap and enMotion Foam Hand Sanitizer are motion sensitive, requiring no hand-to-product touch and therefore considerably reducing the spread of germs.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) identifies three steps to healthy hand-hygiene: wash with soap, dry with single-use paper towel and disinfect with alcohol hand-rub. Lotus Professional supersedes this requirement with the completion of the enMotion range, providing a touchless solution for each stage of the process.
The enMotion Antibacterial Foam Soap has been developed to deliver a dose of dense rich foam. With the ability to kill viruses such as H1N1 and SARS, as well as bacteria such as MRSA and E-Coli, the enMotion soap is the hygienically superior choice compared to some traditional soaps.
Though vicious on germs, the enMotion soap contains a blend of emollients, such as Aloe Vera and glycerin - ingredients specially selected to be gentle on the skin and therefore making it a choice product for use in catering and hospitality industries where regular hand-washing is a key part of day-to-day practice. enMotion Foam Hand Sanitizer’s enhanced ultra-modern formula kills many harmful germs and viruses including MRSA, E-Coli, Norovirus and H1N1.
Both the soap and sanitizer products automatically dispense a pre- selected amount of each product, reducing waste and cost. The dispenser comes with adjustable settings, allowing users to choose between 0.4ml or 0.7ml shots.
Emma Nourry, trade marketing manager at Lotus Professional, said: “The industry-leading enMotion towel-dispenser range has proven to be a professionally proficient and failsafe solution in the most hygienically demanding environments, and the two latest enMotion products are set to match this level of efficiency. Both the soap and sanitiser have been designed to provide a very resourceful, yet stylish and cost-effective solution to hand-hygiene.”

Legionella monitoring increases accuracy and reduces costs
AquaCare Water Hygiene Services has enhanced its water treatment portfolio with the addition of aquavision, an advanced remote Legionella monitoring system.
Water temperature measurements by wireless sensors are regularly transmitted to a web-based monitoring and management system, creating an automated paperless regime with increased logging accuracy and reduced manpower costs. Combined with AquaCare’s in-depth Legionella knowledge, aquavision enables clients to maintain ACoP L8 compliance with increased peace of mind.
Legionnaires Disease, a form of pneumonia that can affect anybody, is fatal in some 12% of reported cases. ACoP L8, the HSE’s Approved Code of Practice for the control of Legionella bacteria in water systems, calls for routine monitoring of water temperatures ‘at least weekly’ - and these records need to be kept for six years. In larger water systems, this monitoring can be a labour intensive task and subject to errors, leading to a loss of compliance. AquaCare’s new aquavision system eliminates both error and labour costs, providing a carbon- friendly alternative to paper-based reporting systems.
Three hardware elements make up aquavision: the aquaflush Legionella sensor, tempsense temperature sensor and RT:Wi5 data hub. Routine temperature measurements and weekly sentinel test results are collected locally and transmitted via radio or LAN to the Gnet24 web- based portal for analysis. Values outside ACoP L8 guidelines result in an immediate email or SMS to designated addresses for swift remedial action. Together, these elements create an integrated paperless monitoring and recording system across individual or multiple sites, with automated flushing and temperature testing in accordance with ACoP L8.
The aquaflush Legionella sensor automatically flushes water through every week to measure temperature data, which is then transmitted wirelessly to the data hub for relay to the server. Available in single or dual versions, this battery-powered unit is easily installed to new or existing sentinel outlets.
For cold-water tank, pipework, TMV and calorifier monitoring, the tempsense sensor records and transmits temperatures every 15 minutes to the data hub and on to the server. Available in single or dual versions - for co-located monitoring points - these battery-powered units are easily added to new or existing installations.
The RT:Wi5 data hub is the heart of the aquavision system, capable of managing hundreds of aquaflush or tempsense units. Data is collected locally over on-site radio and stored in its internal 2GB memory for onward transmission via GPRS short message service, Wi-Fi or Ethernet network to the Gnet24 portal. The data hub automatically senses surrounding sensors, making it quick and easy to install, with no field programming required. An on-board battery unit ensures no loss of data; a signal booster option is available to extend coverage.
Gnet24 is aquavision’s automated web-based user interface and reporting software, creating a paperless Legionella control system with no need for additional back-office software investment. Hourly updates from deployed sensors are analysed for temperature breaches and alarm alert generation. Online displays allow rapid drilling down to individual assets. Monthly reports can be distributed by email to designated addresses to facilitate forward planning of predictive maintenance. All breaches, temperature profiles and sentinel test results are stored for six years in a form suitable for HSE audits.
Aquavision was developed by Radio-Tech and is available for immediate deployment.

Cleaning - with just cold water
A recent study found that people spend six years of their life cleaning. But what if you could clean a building twice as fast, using just cold water?
Enjo chemical free cleaning products do just that. They are tested by the Federal Hygienic Department of Vorarlberg, Austria confirming that the chemical-free products clean 6.5 times better than traditional cleaning products. In fact, they’re so safe they even have a children’s range.
Studies reveal that the average UK household spends £130 a year on cleaning products, and that our least favourite cleaning task - the bathroom - takes on average 22.3 minutes to complete. Traditional cleaning products expose us to a cocktail of toxic chemicals which are ingested, inhaled and cause a variety of illnesses and allergies.
In an effort to combat the dangers discovered in the studies, Enjo has created a range of non-chemical fibre technology products that can deep clean surfaces, eliminating bacteria, grease and dirt up to 50% faster, conserving water and eliminating plastic bottles and packaging.
The secret is the award-winning fibre that the Enjo range is made from. The ‘green fibre’ has the ability to reach into the pores of surfaces, removing 99.99% of bacteria on the surface.

Pay less tax with efficient scrubber dryers
The Government is encouraging the use of green technology by setting up tax incentive schemes for companies who purchase qualifying equipment. The initiative encourages the use of environmentally friendly cleaning machines and in particular water efficient scrubber dryers. In short it encourages businesses to invest in water saving technology.
Nilfisk has been working with ICCMA and DEFRA to define the scheme. The ECA scheme (enhanced capital allowance) allows businesses to claim the whole cost of the qualifying equipment against corporation tax in the first year. For larger companies this allows them to save 28% in the form of a tax allowance.
Qualifying machines are listed, by model, on the Water Technology List (WTL) and the manufacturers are entitled to use the WTL logo where appropriate. All companies, irrespective of size or industry segment, can claim. Claims can only be made on investments in new and unused plant and machinery.
The Nilfisk group has the greatest amount of water efficient scrubber dryers approved on the Water Technology List. A total of 49 Nilfisk models are now certified and listed on the ECA WTL website: www.eca-water.gov.uk .
Models range from the 450mm BA451 through to the 860mm ride on scrubber dryer BR855. Models are approved with the benefit of the automated chemical dosing system EDS - Eco Dosage Solution.
