Resource in harmony with The Sage
Resource has been awarded a contract with the North Music Trust, based in The Sage, an internationally renowned concert venue and exhibition centre in Gateshead.
Following a rigorous and competitive tender process, Resource has been appointed to provide the cleaning services across the site until 2012, adding over £200,000 to the company’s annual turnover.
Since its opening in December 2004, The Sage has become famous throughout the world, not only as a leading educational establishment for young musicians but also as an architectural achievement in its own right. The building - which shows some resemblance to the Sydney Opera House - cost a reputed £70 million to construct and includes two auditoria, a rehearsal space and a 25-room music education centre - each conceived as a separate enclosure.
Esther Wassmann, managing director of Resource, said: “This is a fantastic new business win. The Sage is an iconic building with a truly unique design and winning the contract demonstrates the high quality cleaning services our team provides. We’ve established a strong and well-deserved reputation for our ability to service high profile public buildings. In such buildings, the provision of effective cleaning services is a vital part of creating a comfortable environment for the audience to relax in.”
